Job Requirements

  • BS/BA is a plus
  • Must be a passionate team player and strong motivator
  • Must have strong background in driving performance excellence through people management
  • Five plus years in full P&L management responsibility preferably in hospitality, service and/or retail environments
  • Experience in problem-solving, sound judgment, and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database applications
  • Ability to multi-task with strong time management skills
  • Ability to complete assignments accurately and on time, often with strict or conflicting deadlines
  • Excellent oral presentation, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills
  • Veterinary, boarding and/or grooming experience required
  • Must have experience in managing inventory and accounts payable
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must frequently lift 40 pounds
  • Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently
  • Must be able to be on feet for the duration of shift
  • Must be able to work on computer systems and multi-line telephone
  • Must be able to handle dogs on leashes
  • Must be able to work with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions

Job Duties

  • Supports the mission, vision, culture and policies of Destination Pet
  • Ensures exceptional customer service through personal contact with customers, associate training, resolution of customer complaints, and delivery of services
  • Collaborates with Destination Pet support staff regularly including operations, human resources, marketing, facilities, and legal
  • Ensures cohesiveness of all aspects of pet care services and cross training where necessary
  • Manages all staff including recruitment, hiring, motivation, training, promotion, counseling, and termination
  • Oversees staff scheduling and manages payroll within budget
  • Ensures compliance with labor laws including OSHA, EEOC, ADA, and Fair Labor Practices
  • Conducts safety training and enforces safe handling policies
  • Prepares and delivers annual performance reviews
  • Monitors and ensures safety, security and comfort of pet guests
  • Resolves customer and staff complaints
  • Manages center’s social media accounts with weekly postings and customer engagement
  • Creates and executes local marketing programs
  • Attends community events and partners with local businesses
  • Maintains inventory and restocks supplies
  • Manages all computer systems at the center
  • Addresses maintenance needs to ensure a safe environment
  • Utilizes financial reports for operational decisions
  • Handles cash management including payments and bank deposits
  • Promotes Destination Pet’s services in the community
  • Assists other team members and performs other duties as assigned
