Job Qualifications

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • or a 4-year college degree and 4 to 5 years of related experience
  • or a 2-year college degree and 5 to 6 years of related experience

  • effective verbal and written communication skills with all employees and guests
  • ability to listen, understand and clarify concerns
  • multitask and prioritize departmental functions

Job Duties

  • Tour the operating departments daily making adjustments via department heads
  • conduct weekly staff meetings including training sessions and sales and operational reviews
  • meet all financial review dates and corporate programs timely
  • hold monthly financial reviews with all department managers
  • ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and accounting procedures
  • develop managers through training programs
  • conduct daily HHBR meetings with Director of Sales focusing on prospecting calls and business results
  • play a role in hotel sales efforts including client meetings and hosting events
  • participate in M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
  • maintain direct contact and monitor management trainees
  • adhere and train new managers on company policies
  • assist in budget process
  • ensure training in service standards and compliance across departments
  • foster a positive team environment focused on employees and guests
  • inspect rooms regularly with housekeeping and engineering
  • ensure daily invoice processing
  • ensure timely financial document submissions to corporate office
  • oversee cleanliness and maintenance through inspections and preventive programs
  • ensure employees maintain attentive and courteous guest interactions
  • forecast monthly financial position and analyze data
  • oversee management interviews and hiring procedures
  • interview final management candidates
  • conduct performance appraisals for Executive Committee members
  • motivate and discipline management personnel
  • perform duties as requested by vice president or regional director
  • ensure fair treatment of employees
  • meet clients on property to support sales
  • be visible in public areas during peak times
  • ensure security procedures around hotel safe and audits
  • conduct monthly credit meetings and participate in credit and collection policies
  • complete corporate training modules and certifications
  • ensure scheduled meetings take place
