Job Requirements

  • Must have three to five years experience as a general manager
  • college education preferred
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to work well under pressure
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • must have valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle
  • previous sales experience preferred
  • must be reliable, ethical, and customer centric
  • able to multi-task and identify operational gaps

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as hotel manager or relevant role with an emphasis on sales
  • three to five years prior experience as a general manager
  • college education preferred
  • understanding of hotel management best practices and relevant laws and guidelines
  • demonstrable decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • outstanding leadership skills
  • great attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Manage all sources of revenue including rooms, housekeeping, food and beverage, engineering, and other departments
  • assist in the development and implementation of sales and marketing programs and quarterly sales strategy reports
  • actively participate in sales discussions, meetings, plans, and sales calls
  • be involved in community and/or government affairs
  • create the hotel’s annual budget and monitor performance
  • manage the hotel through a hands-on approach, motivating employees, ensuring development and retention, and conducting regular meetings
  • ensure outstanding guest service and adherence to brand standards
  • protect hotel assets through preventative maintenance
  • adhere to franchise and company procedures and regulations
  • comply with corporate accounting procedures
  • inspect property daily for safety, comfort, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction
  • conduct daily huddle and weekly leadership meetings with agenda
  • select, train, and direct department managers and supervisors
  • monitor performance and guide employee career paths
  • conduct performance appraisals and personal development plans
  • reduce accidents and minimize worker's compensation and unemployment claims
  • remain highly visible and available for guests
  • proactively offer assistance
  • thoroughly understand and implement brand service culture
  • adhere to action plans and budget concepts
  • safeguard realization and adjustment of deviations
  • develop actions for improvement and cost savings
  • coordinate management team planning
  • work front desk shifts as needed
  • handle guest complaints, incidents, and accidents
  • maintain contacts with public authorities on licensing
  • attend monthly department meetings
  • perform other required duties
  • maintain professional appearance and dress
