Job Requirements
- At least 6 years of progressive experience in hotel or related field
- or 4-year college degree with 4 to 5 years of related experience
- or 2-year college degree with 5 to 6 years of related experience
- Experience in lifestyle hotels
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
- Maintain warm and friendly demeanor
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Effective listening and problem resolution skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Service-oriented and courteous attitude
- Attend all required meetings and trainings
- Participate in Manager on Duty coverage as required
- Maintain regular attendance as per scheduling
- Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Tour the operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads
- Conduct weekly staff meetings, including training sessions and sales and operations reviews
- Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely manner
- Hold monthly financial reviews with all department managers and supervisors
- Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and accounting procedures
- Develop managers through competency and corporate sponsored training
- Conduct daily sales meetings with Director of Sales focused on prospecting and business results
- Engage in hotel sales efforts including client meetings, luncheons, receptions, and follow-ups
- Participate in Manager on Duty coverage as scheduled
- Monitor development of management trainees
- Adhere to Highgate policies and train new managers for compliance
- Assist in budget process and ensure financial document submission
- Ensure training in service standards and comply with Garden Standard of the Week
- Foster a positive, guest-focused team environment
- Inspect rooms regularly with Housekeeping and Property Engineering
- Ensure invoice processing and compliance with accounting calendar
- Maintain cleanliness and preventive maintenance programs
- Ensure employees demonstrate attentive, friendly, courteous, and efficient service
- Forecast hotel’s financial position monthly
- Conduct management interviews and follow hiring procedures
- Perform Executive Committee performance appraisals and ensure managerial compliance
- Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline management personnel
- Perform any duties requested by Vice President or Regional Director of Operations
- Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
- Meet clients on property to assist sales efforts
- Be present in public areas during peak times for guest interaction
- Manage hotel safe procedures and monthly audits
- Conduct monthly credit meetings and enforce credit policies
- Complete corporate training and certification
- Ensure scheduled meetings take place on property
