Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field or a 4-year college degree and 4 to 5 years of related experience or a 2-year college degree and 5 to 6 years of related experience
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns of employees and guests
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Maintain a warm, friendly, and service-oriented demeanor
- Attend all required hotel meetings and trainings
- Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
- Maintain high personal appearance and grooming standards
- Comply with company standards and safety regulations
- Effective problem-solving skills including anticipation and resolution

Job Duties
- Tour the operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads
- Conduct weekly staff meetings, including weekly training sessions presented by managers and self using Highgate Hotel standards
- Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion
- Hold a monthly financial review with all department managers and supervisors
- Ensure all department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and standard accounting procedures
- Develop managers for future advancement through competency and corporate training programs
- Conduct daily HHBR meetings with Director of Sales focusing on prospecting and account calls
- Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including client meetings and hosting events
- Participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
- Monitor development of management trainees
- Adhere to company policies and train new managers on compliance
- Oversee and assist in the budget process
- Ensure service standards training is conducted in each department
- Create a positive team environment focused on guest service through employee development and motivation
- Conduct regular room inspections with Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer
- Ensure daily processing of invoices
- Ensure timely submission of financial documents to Corporate Office
- Maintain cleanliness and maintenance through inspections and preventive programs
- Ensure employees provide attentive, friendly, and courteous service
- Forecast monthly financial position by estimating revenues and expenses
- Conduct management interviews and follow hiring procedures
- Interview final candidates for managerial positions
- Perform performance appraisals and manage disciplinary actions according to company policy
- Attend property meetings and assist sales efforts
- Greet guests during peak times and assist as needed
- Ensure security procedures with regard to hotel safe and audits
- Conduct monthly credit meetings and manage collection policies
- Complete corporate training modules and obtain certification as required
- Ensure all scheduled meetings occur on property
- Perform other duties as requested by senior leadership
- Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees according to company standards
