Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- minimum 6 years progressive hotel management experience

Job Qualifications
- At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field or 4-year college degree with 4 to 5 years of related experience or 2-year college degree with 5 to 6 years of related experience
- light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently or constantly
- maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- effective verbal and written communication with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
- effective listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns from employees and guests

Job Duties
- Tour the operating departments daily making adjustments as needed via department heads
- conduct weekly staff meetings including training sessions and review of sales and operations
- meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs on time
- hold a monthly financial review with all department managers and supervisors
- ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and Highgate Hotel standard accounting procedures
- develop managers through competency training and corporate programs
- collaborate with Director of Sales in daily HHBR meetings focusing on prospecting and account calls
- participate actively in hotel sales efforts including client calls and hosting events
- provide required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
- maintain contact and monitor management trainees development
- enforce Highgate Hotel policies, training, and compliance
- assist in the budget process
- ensure training in service standards is conducted in all departments
- create positive team environment focusing on guest experience
- inspect rooms regularly with Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer
- ensure complete invoice processing daily
- provide timely financial information to Corporate Office
- maintain cleanliness and preventive maintenance through inspections
- ensure employees are attentive and courteous
- forecast hotel financial position monthly and analyze data
- conduct management interviews and hiring per SOPs
- interview final candidates before offers
- perform Executive Committee performance appraisals
- coach and discipline management personnel per SOPs
- perform duties as requested by Vice President or Regional Director of Operations
- ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
- meet clients and assist sales effort on property
- be present in public areas during peak times greeting guests
- ensure secure handling of hotel safe and safe audits
- conduct monthly credit meetings and oversee credit and collection policies
- complete required corporate training and certification
- ensure all scheduled meetings occur on property
