Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • Minimum 6 years experience in hotel management or equivalent
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to manage multi-department teams
  • Strong financial acumen including budgeting and forecasting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Multitasking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Proficient in hospitality management software and Microsoft Office
  • Commitment to high customer service standards
  • Valid work authorization
  • Physical ability to perform light work tasks

Job Qualifications

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • or a 4-year college degree and 4 to 5 years related experience
  • or a 2-year college degree and 5 to 6 years related experience
  • Light work involving exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Effective verbal and written communication at all employee and guest levels
  • Skilled in listening, understanding and clarifying concerns
  • Able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and training
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
  • Maintain regular attendance per hotel standards
  • Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming including nametags
  • Comply with hotel standards for safety and efficiency
  • Effective problem handling including anticipation and resolution
  • Ability to understand complex information and data
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Perform other duties as requested by management

Job Duties

  • Tour the operating departments daily making adjustments as needed via department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings including training sessions and review of sales and operations efforts
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and supervisors
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and accounting procedures
  • Develop managers through competency and corporate sponsored training programs
  • Conduct daily HHBR meetings with Director of Sales focusing on prospecting calls and potential business results
  • Participate actively in hotel sales efforts including client meetings and hosting events
  • Participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
  • Maintain contact and monitor management trainees
  • Adhere to all hotel policies and train new managers to ensure compliance
  • Oversee and assist in the hotel budget process
  • Ensure training in service standards occurs per hotel standards
  • Create a positive team-oriented environment focusing on guest experience
  • Inspect rooms regularly with housekeeping and engineering
  • Ensure complete processing of invoices using A/P process
  • Submit financial documents monthly to Corporate Office
  • Oversee cleanliness and maintenance via inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Ensure employees provide attentive, friendly, courteous and efficient service
  • Forecast monthly financial position estimating revenues and expenses
  • Conduct management interviews and hiring per SOPs
  • Interview all final candidates for management positions
  • Perform Executive Committee performance appraisals
  • Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline management personnel per SOPs
  • Perform other duties as requested by Vice President or Regional Director
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees
  • Meet clients and potential clients on property to support sales
  • Be present in public areas during peak times greeting guests
  • Ensure hotel safe security and monthly audits
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and manage credit and collection policies
  • Complete corporate training modules and certify trainers as required
  • Ensure all scheduled meetings occur on the property
