Job Requirements

  • college degree or equivalent education
  • minimum of three years experience as executive assistant manager or resident manager in hotel management
  • knowledge of hotel operations marketing plans security safety personnel labor relations business plans repairs maintenance rehabilitation budgets forecasting quality assurance hotel law and long-range planning
  • leadership skills with ability to motivate and develop staff
  • excellent customer service and sales skills
  • strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • perform administrative duties including defining operating objectives setting goals striving for continual improvement reading and writing reports dictating memorandums communicating with guests managers and corporate office critically review occupancy and revenue reports make judgments periodically review selling prices and implement changes to maximize profits
  • oversee and coordinate forecasts and budgets following specified procedures meeting posted deadlines explain deviations from forecasts ensure budgets are not overspent supervise development and revision of business plans annual budget and forecasts
  • ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations including wage and hour laws business taxes liquor laws OSHA and EEOC requirements implement programs for energy conservation minority relations safety and security supervise effective administration and seek improvements
  • interview hire supervise and counsel department heads and supervisors establish and maintain training programs develop and delegate improvement plans review management team performance build a competent leadership team to provide excellent guest service
  • physically tour and visually inspect property daily monitor cost control cleanliness and quality of service maintain guest room condition inventory submit and update rehabilitation programs
  • travel for corporate meetings sales trips and serve on committees develop and maintain marketing and sales efforts to increase occupancy and food and beverage sales
