Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience in a dispensary or similar environment
  • In-depth knowledge of Illinois medical marijuana regulations
  • Ability to comply with HIPAA and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
  • Capability to lift or move up to 10 pounds with assistance
  • Willingness to submit to a background check

  • Must be able to communicate verbally with coworkers, customers, and vendors
  • Availability for a full-time exempt role.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred
  • Proven experience in dispensary or retail management
  • Knowledge of Illinois medical marijuana laws and HIPAA regulations
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with inventory control and point of sale systems
  • Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Skilled in human resources management and employee relations
  • Proficiency with HR software systems
  • Capability to handle investigations and compliance issues
  • Demonstrated ability to create a positive and productive work environment
  • Familiarity with safety and quality assurance standards
  • Experience in organizational development and training program creation.

Job Duties

  • Ensure compliance with all Illinois medical marijuana rules and regulations governing the act
  • Supervise dispensary activities including staff training and education
  • Monitor all point of sale transactions
  • Manage patient-specific logs including receipt, storage, and auditing of inventory
  • Order new inventory and supplies while maintaining accurate records
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies and patient-staff conflicts
  • Develop and maintain dispensary privacy policies and procedures ensuring HIPAA compliance
  • Direct and monitor department managers to accomplish operational goals
  • Establish compliance-based operating methods according to state regulations
  • Maintain records required by public health law and quality assurance plans
  • Manage policies for retesting, storage, and disposal of returned medical marijuana products
  • Assist with security systems for tracking and surveillance of all products
  • Foster an employee-oriented culture emphasizing quality and high performance
  • Implement HR policies supporting company initiatives and compliance efforts
  • Conduct employee investigations and resolve relations issues
  • Perform exit interviews and recommend corrective actions
  • Create organizational development and employee training programs
  • Conduct performance reviews and monitor employee productivity
  • Implement HR software systems with IT collaboration
  • Recruit, interview, and retain quality staff
  • Develop quality assurance tied to performance review
  • Design proactive compensation and benefits programs
  • Maintain facilities to enhance productivity
  • Manage company-wide communication and change
  • Ensure employee safety, wellness, and health.
