Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • One to two years of previous General Manager experience at a hotel
  • Willingness and desire to create a team learning environment
  • Demonstrated ability to balance department efficiency and service excellence
  • Supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to supervise with coaching, mentoring, training, and developing employee performance
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact positively with employees at various levels and guests
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload

Job Duties

  • Plan, develop and implement organization policies and goals
  • Coordinate activities of departments within the hotel to ensure operational efficiency
  • Direct and coordinate promotion of hotel services to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry
  • Analyze department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made and allocate operating budget
  • Confer with administrative personnel and review activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required
  • Direct preparation of directives to Regional Director of Operations outlining policies, programs, or operational changes that need to be implemented
  • Promote hotel within local associations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management
