Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 3-5+ years of retail management or relevant experience
  • Experience with financial management including sales, reporting, payroll budgets, and expense control
  • Proven retail management abilities with inventory monitoring, operational excellence, service culture, and merchandising
  • Leadership experience in talent attraction, development, motivation, adaptability to change, and team leadership
  • Proficiency in technology such as Point of Sale, Microsoft Office, and Apple devices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, good judgment, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Flexible full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Availability to close the store at least once per week
  • Willingness to attend corporate meetings and conferences including overnight and interstate travel
  • Maintain valid identification for airline travel.

Job Qualifications

  • Proven success with financial management including driving top-line sales, interpreting data, managing payroll budgets, and controlling expenses
  • Experience in retail management with inventory control, operational excellence, service culture, and merchandising execution
  • Leadership skills with experience in attracting, developing, and motivating talent, adapting to change, building collaborative relationships, and leading teams
  • Proficient with basic technology including Point of Sale systems, Microsoft Office, and Apple devices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, exercise good judgment in ambiguous situations, and be flexible and adaptable.

Job Duties

  • Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed Ulta Beauty's goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty including credit, payroll, omni-channel, and retail shrink
  • Drive company profitability through operational excellence, top-line sales growth, and expense control
  • Leverage store forecast and payroll budgets to support with store scheduling needs to maximize productivity, achieve sales and payroll goals, and complete workload on time and within payroll budget
  • Address issues identified by financial and operational reporting, store visits, and audit results to achieve store goals and company profitability
  • Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and guest service
  • Stay informed regarding industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests
  • Maintain prompt, regular attendance and hold store associates accountable to attendance policy
  • Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent and address staffing needs
  • Implement corrective actions fairly in partnership with DM and People Success
  • Build an engaged team through collaboration, communication, and prioritization
  • Create an inclusive environment fostering associate growth and engagement
  • Lead manager and associate development including training, feedback, coaching, performance reviews, succession planning, and development plans
  • Participate in ongoing training and ensure direct reports do the same
  • Model open communication and align goals with enterprise strategy
  • Promote teamwork by working alongside management and providing clear direction
  • Execute the Guest Engagement Leader program through business ownership and associate coaching
  • Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies, procedures, and standards
  • Enforce the dress code
  • Use scheduling and task management tools to optimize staffing and workload execution
  • Protect company assets by adhering to workplace safety, inventory control, cash management, and loss prevention standards
  • Execute daily inventory control and theft reporting
  • Support continuous improvement by adopting company initiatives and technology
  • Utilize programs and resources to drive store improvements
  • Communicate with field leadership on business trends, operational challenges, merchandise needs, and competitive landscape.
