Job Requirements

  • Minimum 6-7 years experience as a Hotel General Manager in a competitive marketplace
  • Renovation/project manager and opening property experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Marriott brand/system experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in financial forecasting and budgeting
  • Capable of multitasking and managing diverse teams
  • Commitment to guest satisfaction and employee development
  • Familiarity with hotel operational standards

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with the hotel’s standards
  • Comply with hotel standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations
  • Conduct daily business review meetings with the Director of Sales focusing on prospecting and account calls
  • Engage in hotel sales efforts including client meetings, hosting events, and maintaining client relationships
  • Tour operational departments daily and make necessary adjustments with department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs promptly
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and supervisors
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and standard accounting procedures
  • Develop managers through competency training and corporate programs
  • Participate in required MOD coverage as scheduled
  • Adhere to HRIL/MWTH management policies and ensure new manager training compliance
  • Oversee budget processes and strategy sessions
  • Promote regular training in service standards across departments
  • Foster a positive team-oriented environment focused on guest experience
  • Inspect rooms weekly with Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer
  • Submit accurate financial documents monthly to corporate office
  • Maintain cleanliness and preventive maintenance of property
  • Forecast and re-forecast hotel financial positions
  • Conduct management interviews and follow hiring procedures
  • Ensure compliance with hiring standards for departmental staff
  • Interview candidates for vacant management positions
  • Administer performance appraisals and manage counseling and disciplinary processes
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
  • Engage with clients on the property to support sales efforts
  • Maintain visibility in public areas during peak guest times
  • Manage procedures for hotel safe and perform monthly safe audits
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and manage credit and collection policies
  • Complete corporate training and certifications
  • Schedule and conduct all property meetings
  • Perform other duties as requested by Corporate Executives.
