Job Description

Hotel Management & Consulting, Inc. (HMC) is an independent franchisee that owns and operates the StudioRes hotel located at 1500 Brunswick Village Boulevard in Leland, North Carolina. As a separate entity from Marriott International, Inc., HMC independently manages all employment policies, practices, and decisions at their property. This distinction allows HMC to customize its management approach and employee relations to best fit the needs of the hotel and its surrounding community.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a hotel general manager
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including kneeling, squatting, sitting, standing, bending, and twisting for long periods
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 20 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Availability to work full time
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment

Job Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license
  • Over 1 year of experience as a hotel general manager
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proactive and aggressive in solving problems
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Recruit, train, and motivate a dedicated team of staff members
  • Provide hands-on support and guidance to ensure the team achieves outstanding results
  • Ensure the hotel is always "Guest Ready" by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and addressing guest concerns promptly
  • Manage and address guest reviews to maintain review standards
  • Follow brand guidelines and operational deadlines
  • Manage budgets, control labor, occupancy, and profit and loss to facilitate successful hotel operations
  • Network within the local community to promote the property and build relationships
  • Lead guest sales and marketing initiatives
  • Assist with housekeeping duties and public space upkeep as needed
  • Cover employee shifts to ensure operational continuity
  • Know and follow property emergency procedures and ensure security needs are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned
