Job Requirements

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in hotel or related field
  • or 4-year college degree with 4 to 5 years related experience
  • or 2-year college degree with 5 to 6 years related experience
  • Light work exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Maintain warm and friendly demeanor
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to listen, understand and clarify concerns
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Approach guests and employees in service-oriented manner
  • Attend hotel required meetings and trainings

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years progressive experience in hospitality or related field
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with relevant experience
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Proficient in financial management and budgeting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and compliance
  • Experience in sales and client relations
  • Ability to conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary actions
  • Familiarity with hotel management software and tools
  • Commitment to high service standards and guest satisfaction

Job Duties

  • Tour operating departments daily, making adjustments with department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions
  • Meet financial review deadlines and corporate programs
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and supervisors
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and accounting procedures
  • Develop managers through competency and corporate training
  • Conduct daily HHBR meetings with Director of Sales
  • Engage in hotel sales efforts including client meetings and receptions
  • Participate in required management coverage
  • Monitor development of management trainees
  • Adhere to company policies and train new managers
  • Assist in budget process as required
  • Ensure departmental training in service standards
  • Foster team-oriented environment focused on guest satisfaction
  • Inspect rooms weekly with Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer
  • Oversee invoice processing daily
  • Comply with monthly accounting schedules
  • Maintain physical property cleanliness and maintenance
  • Ensure attentive and courteous employee interactions
  • Forecast monthly financial positions
  • Conduct management interviews and hiring
  • Interview final candidates for management positions
  • Perform performance appraisals and ensure compliance
  • Motivate, coach, and discipline management personnel
  • Complete additional duties as requested by leadership
  • Ensure fair treatment of employees
  • Meet and assist clients on property
  • Greet guests during peak times
  • Follow hotel safe handling procedures
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings
  • Complete corporate training and certification
  • Ensure scheduled meetings occur on property
