Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 6 years progressive experience in hotel or related field or 4-year college degree with 4 to 5 years related experience or 2-year college degree with 5 to 6 years related experience
  • Light work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently or constantly
  • Maintain warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective listening skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Attend required meetings and trainings
  • Participate in Manager-On-Duty coverage
  • Maintain regular attendance as required
  • Maintain high personal appearance standards including wearing name tags

  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel standards and regulations promoting safe and efficient operations
  • Effective problem-solving abilities including anticipating and preventing problems
  • Ability to understand and evaluate complex information and data from various sources
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Perform other duties as requested by management

Job Duties

  • Tour operating departments daily making adjustments as needed via department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings including training sessions reviewing sales and operations efforts
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate programs timely
  • Hold monthly financial review with department managers and supervisors
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and checkbook accounting procedures
  • Develop managers through competency and corporate training programs
  • Conduct daily sales prospecting meetings with Director of Sales
  • Participate in hotel sales including client meetings and hosting events
  • Participate in Manager-On-Duty coverage as scheduled
  • Monitor development of management trainees
  • Adhere to Highgate Hotel policies and train new managers for compliance
  • Assist in Highgate Hotel budget process
  • Ensure training in service standards in all departments
  • Promote positive team-oriented environment through employee development
  • Regularly inspect rooms with Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer
  • Ensure daily processing of invoices using A/P process
  • Ensure timely submission of financial documents to Corporate Office
  • Maintain cleanliness and property maintenance through inspections and maintenance programs
  • Ensure employees maintain attentive, friendly, courteous, and efficient service
  • Forecast hotel’s monthly financial position and generate accurate reforecast
  • Conduct management interviews and follow hiring procedures
  • Interview final candidates before offers
  • Perform Executive Committee members performance appraisals and ensure compliance
  • Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline management personnel as per policies
  • Perform other duties as requested by Vice President or Regional Director
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
  • Meet clients on-site assisting sales efforts
  • Be present in public areas during peak times
  • Ensure adherence to hotel safe handling procedures and monthly audits
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and enforce credit policies
  • Complete required corporate training and certification
  • Ensure all scheduled meetings take place on property
