Job Qualifications
- At least 6 years progressive experience in hotel or related field
- Or a 4-year college degree and 4-5 years related experience
- Or a 2-year college degree and 5-6 years related experience
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to listen, understand and clarify concerns
- Ability to multitask and prioritize functions
- Attend all required meetings and training
- Participate in management-on-duty coverage
- Maintain regular attendance per scheduling needs
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- Comply with standards to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to evaluate complex information from various sources
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Job Duties
- Tour operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads
- Conduct weekly staff meetings including training sessions
- Meet all financial review dates and corporate programs timely
- Hold monthly financial review with department managers and supervisors
- Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and accounting procedures
- Develop managers through competency and corporate training programs
- Participate in daily sales meetings with Director of Sales
- Engage in hotel sales including client meetings and hosting events
- Participate in management-on-duty coverage as scheduled
- Monitor development of management trainees
- Adhere to hotel policies and train new managers for compliance
- Assist in hotel budget process
- Ensure service standards training and compliance
- Encourage positive team environment focusing on guest satisfaction
- Inspect rooms regularly with housekeeping and engineering managers
- Process invoices daily
- Provide monthly financial information to Corporate Office
- Maintain property cleanliness and preventive maintenance
- Ensure employees are attentive and courteous
- Forecast monthly hotel financial position
- Conduct management interviews and comply with hiring procedures
- Perform management appraisals and ensure compliance
- Motivate and discipline management personnel
- Perform duties as requested by Vice President or Regional Director
- Ensure fair treatment of employees
- Meet clients and attend property tours
- Be present in public areas during peak times
- Manage hotel safe procedures and audits
- Conduct monthly credit meetings and assist in credit/collection policies
- Complete corporate training and certifications
- Ensure scheduled meetings occur on property
