Job Requirements
- Work a flexible, full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be available to close the store at least once per week
- Attend corporate business meetings and conferences including overnight stays and interstate travel
- Maintain valid identification for airline travel
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- 3-5+ years of fast-paced retail management or relevant work experience
- Proven success in financial management including driving top-line sales and controlling expenses
- Experience in retail management with inventory monitoring and operational excellence
- Leadership experience in attracting, developing, and motivating talent and managing change
- Proficient with technology such as Point of Sale systems, Microsoft Office, and Apple devices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to react well under pressure, use good judgment, and be flexible and adaptable
Job Duties
- Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed Ulta Beauty’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, payroll, omni-channel, and retail shrink
- Drive company profitability through operational excellence, top-line sales growth, and expense control
- Leverage store forecast and payroll budgets to support store scheduling needs to maximize productivity, achieve sales and payroll goals, and complete workload on time and within budget
- Address issues identified by financial and operational reporting, store visits, and audits to achieve goals and drive profitability
- Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to enhance guest experience and sales
- Stay informed about beauty industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests
- Maintain prompt attendance and hold store associates accountable to attendance policies
- Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent and efficiently address staffing needs
- Address policy violations and take corrective action in accordance with company policies
- Build an engaged team through collaboration, open communication, and work prioritization
- Create an inclusive environment that inspires growth and engagement
- Lead training, coaching, performance reviews, succession planning, and development plans
- Participate in ongoing professional development and ensure direct reports do the same
- Share enterprise strategy with direct reports and align store goals accordingly
- Promote teamwork through clear direction and priority setting
- Execute Guest Engagement Leader program to drive business results
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and dress code
- Use scheduling and task management tools to optimize store operations and guest experience
- Protect company assets by enforcing store standards and procedures including safety, inventory control, cash management, and loss prevention
- Manage day-to-day inventory control processes and theft reporting
- Support continuous improvement and adoption of company initiatives and technology
- Communicate with field leadership on business trends, operational challenges, merchandise needs, and competitive landscape
