Job Qualifications
- bachelor's degree in hospitality management or similar degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- hotel operations experience including knowledge of applicable federal, state, and municipal laws and regulations
- certified hospitality administrator designation preferred
- presentation and facilitation skills preferred
- excellent customer service skills
- previous experience in the hospitality industry preferred
- hotel management operations experience preferred
- knowledge of government relations regarding hotel operations preferred
Job Duties
- direct the day-to-day activities of the hotel establishment
- supervise direct and indirect reports
- perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, training programs, and applicable laws
- plan, organize, and assign work as needed
- develop and communicate strategies and goals
- train and advise team of policies and procedures
- recruit, interview, hire, and conduct performance appraisals
- set performance expectations as aligned in the General Manager Standard Operating Procedures manual
- ensure regular, on-going communication within all departments
- create an operations environment that ensures consistent guest satisfaction
- monitor hotel performance through guest satisfaction tools and financial reports
- communicate departmental goals clearly to produce desired results
- maintain product and service quality standards by conducting evaluations and investigating complaints
- develop long and short-term financial objectives aligned with company mission
- prepare financial reports with explanations on operational effectiveness, trends, and variances
- analyze current and potential market sales and trends
- coordinate activities to maintain and increase revenue and market share
- implement brand initiatives and communicate follow-up actions
- identify key drivers of business success and keep leadership focused
- reinforce and maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness
- assist with emergency and security procedures when needed
- promote good safety practices
- establish and monitor preventive maintenance programs
- assist in sales and marketing strategy development
- support overall sales strategy
- provide recommendations to meet yield and penetration objectives
- develop community and public relations through local event participation
- perform other tasks to meet or exceed guest satisfaction
