Job Requirements
- A four-year college degree or equivalent education or experience
- previous experience as General Manager or Assistant General Manager at a similar size and type of hotel
- previous experience as Department Head at similar facility
- advanced knowledge of hospitality and business management
- strong ability to analyze, interpret complex information and improve practices
- excellent communication and leadership skills
- physical ability to perform hotel inspection duties including vision and mobility
- ability to climb stairs regularly
- willingness to work in a general office and hotel environment

Job Duties
- Lead the Executive Committee utilizing a participative style and coordinating department operations
- develop and assure achievement of the annual operating budget including revenues, costs, and profits
- set and follow up on quarterly departmental objectives with corrective actions if necessary
- conduct monthly forecasting of operating staff and costs, aligning business planning accordingly
- regularly review financial statements to manage expenses and plan future business
- develop high staff morale and loyalty, communicate, counsel, and assist in staff development
- conduct performance appraisals, identify substandard managerial performance, and take corrective measures
- supervise staff hiring ensuring experience, knowledge and ability
- review and enforce cost controls to protect property assets
- administer wage and salary increases in compliance with company policies
- review future bookings, implement yield management, and adjust pricing strategies
- conduct regular inspections of all hotel areas, maintaining guest service standards
- implement preventive property maintenance programs
- develop and monitor annual sales and marketing plans
- review sales activities, productivity, and market mix, taking corrective actions
- oversee food and beverage promotion programs and monitor sales trends
- maintain and enforce credit policies at various departments
- enhance front office performance to maximize room revenue
- represent the hotel in the local community, supporting corporate citizenship
- ensure company policies and procedures are fully implemented across the hotel
