Job Requirements

  • three to five years supervisory/management experience in the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industry preferred
  • demonstrated success in financial management and people development
  • knowledge of OSHA and EEOC regulations
  • must have computer and Point of Sale (POS) skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, and internet navigation
  • ability to perform all job duties of service positions in the restaurant
  • Food Safety Manager certification required
  • strong organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • ability to work a minimum of 55 hours a week if business demand requires
  • must be able and willing to travel locally and nationally
  • ability to handle labor efficiency and scheduling
  • compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws
  • experience in employee relations
  • capable of conducting performance evaluations and coaching

Job Duties

  • Develops and implements creative and targeted sales-building strategies with the corporate office to ensure optimal sales and earnings
  • assists in the annual preparation of sales projections, expense budgets, and capital expenditure budgets
  • meets or exceeds budgeted sales in the area
  • maximizes profits and area by controlling expenses within established budget guidelines
  • identifies, evaluates and responds appropriately to labor efficiency problems
  • monitors restaurant management and employee schedules
  • assists restaurant leaders in identifying sales growth opportunities in restaurant merchandising and local restaurant marketing ideas
  • executes and follows up on the financial results on a period basis
  • ensures all restaurants meet or exceed the companys operations and quality standards
  • performs visitations at other Bay Area restaurants to ensure uniform service strengths and developmental opportunities
  • completes and maintains accurate assessment reports including labor reports, COGS, revenue analysis, open projects
  • develops and implements action plans to rectify negative assessments
  • ensures professional restaurant and consistent team image through adherence to cleanliness, uniforms, and appearance standards
  • follows and enforces compliance with all brand and company standards, policies and procedures
  • creates and maintains schedules for all staff according to business demand
  • provides coverage when necessary
  • interacts closely with culinary/bar leaders, AGM's, and corporate leadership on menu offerings/changes/pricing
  • responds immediately to all customer issues to ensure guest satisfaction
  • monitors employee and guest satisfaction
  • provides direction to assistant general manager and staff aligned with company values
  • identifies opportunities for partnerships with local organizations
  • promotes corporate citizenship and social responsibility
  • supports franchise training standards
  • assists in franchise training and new restaurant openings
  • manages staffing, training, retention, and turnover of staff
  • conducts interviews and collaborates with HR on staffing and exit interviews
  • conducts training for managers, franchise operators, service staff on operational processes and policies
  • identifies and develops future leaders through cross-training and promotion
  • conducts performance reviews
  • manages employee relations including documentation and investigations
  • ensures compliance with company policies, cash control, safety and security protocols
  • completes financial reporting and payroll processing timely
  • participates and encourages team involvement in brand activities
  • ensures timely implementation of marketing promotions and company initiatives
  • maintains compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards
  • enforces sanitary practices for food handling and cleanliness
  • maintains an enjoyable and respectful environment for guests and employees
  • follows management cash handling and inventory procedures
  • and completes all other assigned tasks.
