Job Requirements

  • minimum of 5 years' experience as a full-service hotel general manager
  • minimum of 2 years' experience food and beverage
  • previous union experience
  • demonstrated knowledge of financial, accounting, profit and loss procedures
  • marriott brand experience highly desired

Job Duties

  • perform administrative duties including reading and writing reports, dictating memorandums and communicating with guests, managers, corporate office, and local associations
  • review reports of occupancy and revenue to make judgments and implement changes to maximize profits
  • supervise development and revision of business plans, annual budgets, and forecasts
  • interview, hire, supervise, and counsel department managers
  • develop and delegate improvement plans for operations
  • recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, and approve discipline and terminations
  • participate in community affairs and maintain positive public image
  • communicate verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff
  • physically tour and visually inspect property daily to monitor cost control, property condition, cleanliness and quality of product and service
  • greet and maintain rapport with associates and customers
  • travel to attend corporate meetings, sales trips, and serve on committees
  • handle associate issues in conjunction with Human Resources following company policies
  • comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly
  • perform any other job-related duties as assigned
