Job Requirements
- At least 6 years progressive experience in hotel or related field
- Or a 4-year college degree and 4 to 5 years related experience
- Or a 2-year college degree and 5 to 6 years related experience
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
- Maintain warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- Effective verbal and written communication with all levels of employees and guests
- Ability to listen, understand, and clarify employee and guest concerns
- Able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
- Approach encounters with guests and employees with courteous and service-oriented manner
- Attend all required meetings and trainings
- Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
- Maintain regular attendance as required by scheduling
- Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming including nametags
- Comply with standards to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations
- Effective problem handling including anticipation and resolution
- Ability to understand and analyze complex information from various sources

Job Qualifications
- Proven leadership and management experience in hotel or hospitality operations
- Strong financial acumen and budgeting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop and motivate staff
- Experience with sales and client relationship management
- Knowledge of hotel operations and guest service standards
- Ability to conduct thorough inspections and maintain property standards
- Skilled in conducting training sessions and performance appraisals
- Competency in handling confidential information
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
Job Duties
- Tour the operating departments daily making adjustments as needed via department heads
- Conduct weekly staff meetings including weekly training sessions and review of sales and operations efforts
- Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs timely
- Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and supervisors
- Ensure all department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and accounting procedures
- Develop managers for future advancement through training programs
- Conduct daily HHBR meetings with Director of Sales focusing on prospecting and account calls
- Participate in hotel sales efforts including client meetings and hosting events
- Provide management on duty coverage as scheduled
- Monitor development of management trainees
- Adhere to Highgate policies and train new managers for compliance
- Assist in hotel budget process
- Ensure service standards training compliance in all departments
- Create a positive team environment focusing on guest service
- Inspect rooms regularly with Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer
- Oversee invoice processing using A/P process
- Submit financial documents to Corporate Office monthly
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance through inspections and preventive maintenance
- Ensure employees are attentive and courteous with guests and colleagues
- Forecast hotel financial position monthly estimating revenues and expenses
- Conduct management interviews and follow hiring procedures
- Interview final candidates for management positions
- Perform Executive Committee performance appraisals
- Motivate and discipline management personnel according to standards
- Perform duties as requested by Vice President or Regional Director of Operations
- Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
- Meet clients on property to assist sales
- Engage with guests in public areas during peak times
- Ensure hotel safe handling and audits
- Conduct monthly credit meetings and manage credit policies
- Complete required corporate training and certification
- Ensure all scheduled meetings take place on property
