Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration, Business Administration or related field preferred
- Three years as General Manager, Operations Manager, or Director of Sales in extended stay hotels preferred
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances
- Strong problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred
- Ability to travel including some overnight travel is required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to frequently stand, bend, climb, kneel and move about the facility
- Exposure to commercial cleaning chemicals
- Ability to carry, lift or pull items up to 50 pounds
- Frequent handling of objects and equipment
- Willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications

- Minimum three years’ experience as General Manager, Operations Manager, or Director of Sales in extended stay hotels preferred
- Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred
- Strong mathematical skills including budgeting and financial concepts
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational and training abilities
- Ability to travel including overnight trips
- Valid driver’s license
Job Duties
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients
- Manage according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and instill a passion for customer service in all associates
- Create processes and procedures to ensure the hotel is properly supplied and maintained
- Manage direct sales activities in partnership with Regional Sales Director and Global Sales Office
- Supervise Director of Sales and execute sales and marketing plans
- Manage seasonal demand strategy with Regional Revenue Manager using property management systems
- Regularly sell hotel rooms through direct client contact
- Establish and implement service recovery guidelines for guest satisfaction
- Manage front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage operations through Operations Manager
- Oversee appearance and maintenance of the property with Maintenance Manager
- Attend social events to represent management and prospect sales leads
- Lead development and monitoring of capital and operational budgets
- Collaborate with Finance for financial reporting and variance analysis
- Manage inflow and outflow of money with General Ledger Accountant
- Oversee building condition and maintenance budgets with National Engineering and Facilities Operations
- Ensure proper HR processes for recruiting, training, and performance management
- Coordinate IT management for hardware and software systems
- Oversee procurement processes and analyze spending for efficiencies
- Enforce hotel standards, policies, and procedures
- Act as Manager on Duty as required
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service laws
- Perform other duties as assigned
