Job Requirements

  • Two to three years of restaurant management experience or one year as a Benihana manager with positive results
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Proficiency in food planning, preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, personnel management, recordkeeping and report preparation
  • Knowledge of computers including MS Word and Excel
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license where applicable
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must agree to background check
  • ServSafe certification and alcohol service certification preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Experience managing restaurant operations for 2-3 years or 1 year as a Benihana manager with strong performance
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Proficiency in food planning, purchasing, sanitation, security, personnel management and report preparation
  • Knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license where applicable
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Willingness to undergo background check
  • ServSafe and alcohol service certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversee and manage all areas of the restaurant and make final decisions on guest service issues
  • Investigate and resolve food quality and service complaints
  • Inspect dining room, food receiving, preparation, production and storage areas to ensure health and safety compliance
  • Supervise cleaning and maintenance of equipment and arrange for repairs and contracts
  • Maintain restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms and appearance standards
  • Ensure safety practices and emergency procedures are followed and staff trained
  • Plan, coordinate and approve scheduling of all restaurant departments
  • Prepare paperwork including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner
  • Assist in developing, planning and executing marketing and promotional activities
  • Follow all federal, state and local laws and regulations
  • Ensure sanitary food handling practices and kitchen cleanliness
  • Ensure consistent high quality of food preparation and service
  • Manage restaurant inventories including food, liquor, equipment and supplies and maintain detailed documentation
  • Ensure product availability through effective ordering and forecasting
  • Verify correct receipt of products during deliveries
  • Control cash and receipts according to policies
  • Review financial information and monitor budgets to control costs
  • Prepare budgets and budget analyses
  • Ensure compliance with company standards to increase sales and minimize costs
  • Complete financial reporting and payroll administrative duties
  • Provide direction on operational and procedural issues to employees
  • Interview, select, hire and terminate hourly employees
  • Conduct new hire orientations and employee training on company values
  • Develop employees through feedback and performance reviews
  • Prepare schedules ensuring adequate staffing
  • Administer corrective actions for policy violations
  • Lead weekly management meetings and communicate weekly operations
  • Serve as a role model and expert in all restaurant aspects
