Job Requirements
- Must have a four-year college degree or equivalent education
- previous experience as General Manager or Assistant General Manager at similar size and type of hotel
- previous experience as Department Head at same facility preferred
- advanced knowledge of hospitality and business management
- highly developed communication skills for negotiation and influence
- ability to analyze, interpret, and improve complex activities
- strong decision-making skills with general policy guidance
- excellent speech, written, and literacy skills
- physical ability to inspect hotel areas, walk extensively, and climb stairs
- ability to work in a general office and hotel environment
Job Qualifications
- Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
- previous experience as General Manager or Assistant General Manager at a similar size and type of hotel
- previous experience as Department Head at the same facility considered an asset
- advanced knowledge of hospitality and business management fields
- excellent communication and negotiation skills

- proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement critique

Job Duties
- Lead the Executive Committee utilizing a participative style
- coordinate operation of individual departments and special projects
- develop and achieve annual operating budget including revenues, costs, and profits
- set written priorities and key objectives for department heads with action plans
- conduct monthly forecasting of staff and expenditures
- review and approve all major expenses
- develop high staff morale and reduce turnover
- conduct performance appraisals and development plans for management staff
- hire hotel management staff with appropriate experience
- review wage and salary increases per company policies
- regularly inspect guest rooms, public areas, banquet setups to assure quality
- implement guest service standards and monitor compliance
- develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
- develop and monitor annual sales and marketing plans
- review and guide sales solicitation activities
- monitor food and beverage promotion success
- maintain credit policies and supervise collections
- regularly review Front Office operations to maximize revenue
- represent hotel in local community and manage corporate citizenship
- ensure full implementation of company policies and procedures
- oversee cost control measures to protect hotel assets
- quarterly review of pricing strategies and implement price changes as necessary
