Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in maintenance or housekeeping preferred
- Ability to work evening shifts including weekends and holidays
- Successfully pass Minnesota Department of Human Services background check
- Completion of Tuberculosis screening or chest x-ray prior to employment
- Ability to make minor repairs on maintenance equipment
- Physical ability to perform manual labor tasks
- Ability to follow safety protocols and instructions
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Flexibility to work varying schedules based on business needs
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of different types of flooring and appropriate cleaning methods
- Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleach, and soap
- Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment operation
- Ability to use hand tools and handle light materials manually
- Ability to perform work involving ladders and scaffolding
- Ability to perform laundry functions
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to perform assigned tasks with limited supervision
- Ability to read and follow operational manuals and instructions
- Ability to keep simple work records
Job Duties
- Maintain building floors and hallways by sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, and vacuuming
- Clean windows, walls, curtain dividers, and window treatments using appropriate agents and ladders
- Clean and maintain rooms and furniture by dusting, moving, rearranging, and setting up or taking down tables and chairs
- Clean restrooms by scrubbing floors, sinks, and stools
- maintain supplies and empty wastebaskets
- Clean assigned state-maintained sidewalks by shoveling snow, applying sand or deicers, and removing ice and rubbish
- Perform personal and regular laundry activities including sorting and delivering residents' clothes
- Operate, maintain, and repair vacuums and other maintenance equipment
- Follow safety and cleaning protocols in all maintenance activities
- Assist with minor mechanical repairs of maintenance tools
