Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • 1-2 years experience in the food industry preferred
  • Experience with USDA, FDA, and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to work in frozen, refrigerated, and non-refrigerated environments
  • Ability to work with chemicals and water
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more
  • Ability to stand and walk for long hours
  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Ability to push and pull heavy loads

Job Duties

  • Ensure equipment, tools, and plant are cleaned according to the company standards and USDA requirements
  • Make sure the production room, mixing room, and packaging room are clean and free of garbage throughout the production process
  • Clean any areas where condensation accumulates
  • Clean employee rest rooms and cafeteria
  • Check paper towel dispensers at the beginning of the shift and refill as needed
  • Distribute clean frocks to employees and ensure used frocks are kept properly
  • Distribute hairnets and gloves as needed
  • Vacuum office areas and empty garbage in offices and hallway
  • Fill soap dispenser as needed
  • Keep equipment parts during cleaning
  • Take empty cardboard boxes from production to the bailer and inform QA Manager when the compactor is full
  • Follow company and USDA requirements during cleaning
  • Properly use sanitation chemicals
  • Remove garbage and maintain cleanliness in dry storage, freezers, shipping/receiving dock, and outside grounds
  • Remove snow and clear emergency exits outside
  • Collect and bail plastic and recyclable materials
  • Wash and sanitize equipment during changeovers
  • Uphold, follow, and maintain the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing
  • Perform other duties as assigned or volunteered for.
