Job Requirements
- high school diploma or its equivalent
- knowledge of cooking materials and methods
- understanding of kitchen equipment operation
- familiarity with sanitation and chemical use
- ability to follow recipes and portion control

- must demonstrate regular and punctual attendance
- ability to interact positively with administration, students, staff, parents, and community members
- must demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior and speech
- must follow all district policies and work procedures
- must maintain confidentiality
- must obtain criminal clearances including act 34, act 114, and act 151
- must pass pre-employment drug test, physical, and tb test

Job Duties
- assist in the preparation and serving of food items for the food service program, some lifting may be required
- read and accurately follow recipes and utilize appropriate weight and measurement tools to meet the hhfka and nslp breakfast and lunch requirements
- ensure required quantities of breakfast and lunch are prepared with great attention to quality and eye appeal
- assist in achieving food cost goals through proper recording of product used, waste reduction, rotation, recipe adherence, and portion control
- maintain kitchen and serving areas in clean, safe, and sanitary condition, following all haccp guidelines, and standing operating procedures
- correctly identify nslp breakfast and lunch meals and offer vs serve to accurately meet state and federal reimbursement requirements
- collect money for meals and a la carte sales and account for meals served
- ability to learn computer accounting/pos system
- clean dishes, pots, pans, and equipment as needed
