Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Valid Colorado driver's license
- Any other combination of related education, experience, and training
Job Qualifications
- Ability to follow and understand oral and written instructions
- Ability to deal tactfully with the public and staff
- Ability to respond under pressure to immediate situations while maintaining courteous and professional relationships with staff and public
- Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to make decisions by using good judgment and common sense
- Ability to follow established safety practices
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Ability to perform all functions of the position
Job Duties
- Operate cleaning equipment as needed
- Use positive verbal and non-verbal skills when working with district personnel and community members at all times
- Perform work according to printed information on the Facilities Department work order system when required
- Direct the activities of temporary employees
- Respond to emergencies
- Clean rest rooms
- vacuum, sweep, mop, wax, and buff floors
- Clean chalkboards
- shampoo carpets
- and empty wastebaskets
- Wash windows, walls, light fixtures and furniture
- Operate vacuum cleaners, floor machines, and other mechanical equipment
- Set up and clean after evening activities in assigned building
- Substitute for a general custodian or other part-time employee
- Be responsible for security and locking up building at night when leaving
- Perform set-up of rooms and/or equipment for special events
- Clean body fluid spills
