Job Requirements

  • Experience operating basic kitchen equipment required such as slicer, chopper, mixer
  • must be able to lift 25lbs regularly and up to 50lbs occasionally
  • must be able to use chemicals required in daily cleaning
  • ability to read and comprehend basic English
  • wear uniforms as furnished by department
  • use hair restraint as required
  • take meal breaks as assigned by management
  • must have reliable transportation
  • availability to work scheduled hours including weekends
  • willingness to comply with union essential personnel requirements during emergencies

Job Qualifications

  • Experience operating basic kitchen equipment such as slicer, chopper, and mixer
  • ability to follow recipes and product instructions
  • basic English reading and comprehension skills
  • knowledge of food safety standards including ServSafe and NSF is preferred
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • reliability and ability to follow safety protocols

Job Duties

  • Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times
  • assist in dining facility with prep work for kitchen and serving area stations
  • follow recipes and product directions for food preparation
  • use kitchen equipment and appliances safely and properly
  • taste products and read menus to ensure food quality and estimate requirements
  • prepare meals for special diets
  • perform limited cooking tasks such as breakfast/grill, salad bars, gelato, and toss stations
  • maintain compliance with food service regulations and safety standards
