Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous janitorial or cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently
- Capability to maintain physical stamina for prolonged periods of walking and standing
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Reliable transportation for commuting to assigned facilities
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
- Ability to maintain a neat personal appearance during work shifts
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic janitorial operations
- Familiarity with methods, materials, and equipment used in janitorial work
- Understanding of safe work practices
- Ability to use toxic and non-toxic cleaning chemicals per MSDS guidelines
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Sufficient communication skills for interaction with coworkers and supervisors
- Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment
- Ability to interpret cleaning chemical labels and warnings
- Physical capability to perform demanding cleaning duties including walking, standing, lifting up to 30 lbs, pushing/pulling, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, kneeling, crouching, and performing overhead reaching
- Good vision including depth perception and hand-eye coordination
Job Duties
- Perform high dusting of surfaces above shoulder height using treated high duster
- Sanitize and spot clean surfaces below shoulder height with germicidal solution
- Clean bathrooms thoroughly including sinks, toilet seats, and toilet bowls with proper germicidal solution
- Empty trash cans, clean and replace liners as needed
- Dust mop or vacuum floors starting from the back of the room towards the door
- Maintain outdoor grounds by emptying ash urns, policing sidewalks and parking lots for trash, and spot cleaning spills
- Clean and sanitize public common areas, food courts, and regularly inspect for dirt, cobwebs, and debris
- Mop and sanitize floors using appropriate germicidal solutions
- Conduct self-inspection of cleaning work and furniture placement
- Provide courteous customer service and report maintenance issues to supervisor
- Perform additional floor care tasks such as stripping, waxing, carpet extraction, auto scrubbing, and buffing as assigned
