- work requires ability to read and follow oral and written instructions in English at elementary school level
- ability to learn and perform basic housekeeping practices
- understands hospital policies and procedures
- high school diploma or GED preferred

- prior experience in cleaning or environmental services is an asset but not required
Job Duties
- maintains daily cleaning of assigned areas by following approved hospital cleaning procedures
- operate vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, and wall washing equipment as instructed
- maintain stock of housekeeping supplies and manage housekeeping closets and equipment
- prepare patient rooms for occupancy by sanitizing beds, furniture, and equipment
- clean and maintain refrigerators, stoves, ovens, and other patient and non-patient care equipment
- set up and clean meeting rooms per department specifications
- collect and dispose of trash and waste
- clean, disinfect and sanitize bathrooms and replenish soap and paper dispenser supplies
