Job Requirements
- Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions in English acquired through completion of elementary school
- Ability to learn and perform basic housekeeping practices
- Understanding of hospital policies and procedures
- High school diploma or GED preferred

- Capability of operating cleaning machines such as vacuum cleaners and floor scrubbers
Job Duties
- Maintains daily cleaning of assigned areas by following hospital cleaning procedures
- Operates vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, burnishers, buffers and other power machinery as instructed
- Maintains stock of housekeeping supplies and maintains housekeeping closets and equipment
- Prepares patient rooms for occupancy upon discharge or transfer including sanitation of beds, furniture and equipment
- Cleans and maintains refrigerators, stoves, ovens, and other patient and non-patient care equipment
- Sets up and cleans meeting rooms per specifications
- Collects and disposes of trash and waste as needed
- Cleans, disinfects and sanitizes bathroom sinks, floors, showers, and fills soap dispenser and paper towel and tissue dispensers
