Job Requirements
- Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions in English
- Completion of elementary school education
- Ability to learn and perform basic housekeeping duties
- Understanding and adherence to hospital cleaning policies and procedures
- Availability to work 40 hours per week including days and rotating weekends
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to learn and perform basic housekeeping practices
- Understanding of hospital policies and procedures
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English
- Experience operating cleaning machinery is an asset but not required
Job Duties
- Maintains daily cleaning of assigned areas by following approved hospital cleaning procedures
- Operates vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, burnishers, buffers and wall washing equipment
- Maintains stock of all housekeeping supplies and housekeeping closets
- Prepares patient rooms for occupancy including sanitation of beds, furniture, and equipment
- Cleans and maintains refrigerators, stoves, ovens, and other equipment
- Sets up and cleans meeting rooms as needed
- Collects and disposes of trash and waste
- Cleans, disinfects and sanitizes bathrooms and fills soap, paper towel, and tissue dispensers
