Job Requirements
- High school diploma or higher
- Three years experience as General Cashier or accounting related position
- Superior cash handling ability
- Computer skills, keyboard 30wpm, Win95, Word, Excel, ability to operate basic office equipment
- Effective organizational and communication skills
- Able to push, stand, stoop, bend, and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds repetitively
- Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- Oversees cashier activities to ensure adherence to policies and procedures for cash handling operations
- Retrieves cashier deposit envelopes from drop safe daily
- Audits cashier deposit envelopes for accuracy
- Prepares cashier 'due back' envelopes whenever necessary to maintain cashier bank total
- Balances daily cash and prepares bank deposits for pick-up by armored car
- Prepares daily deposit records for hotel cashiers to ensure accurate reporting and recording of deposit information
- Organizes and maintains records/files for cashier deposit envelopes, daily deposit log sheets, credit card and cash deposit records
- Prepares daily and monthly cashier over/short reports, assists cashiers when necessary to determine causes, informs management, recommends corrective actions
- Maintains General Cashier, primary operating fund bank
- Inventories General Cashier bank daily/weekly/monthly to ensure accuracy of transactions
- Anticipates cash requirements and prepares and transmits necessary change requests to bank
- Makes change for cashiers as necessary to maintain appropriate operating fund totals
- Disburses petty cash funds when presented with properly prepared and signed petty cash vouchers
- Maintains petty cash disbursement records and transmits same to Assistant Controller for ledger posting
- Issues and controls all cashier house banks, controls vault combinations and keys
- Maintains records and contracts for all cashier house banks and provides HR with copies as necessary
- Conducts un-announced monthly audits of cashier house banks
- Copies all checks received by hotel cashiers and maintains a log of same for reference
- Obtains daily foreign currency exchange rate information and transmits same to cashiers
- Separates foreign currency exchange funds for pick-up
- Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times
- Notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significance
- Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, and fellow employees
- Attends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions
- Complies with required safety regulations and procedures
- Complies with hotel and department standards, policies and rules
- Recycles whenever possible
- Remains current with hotel information and changes
- Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards
- Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area
- Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards
