Job Requirements
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- minimum of two years prior experience as a bartender
- must attend and pass the Responsible Vendor Training program prescribed by the Alabama Beverage Control Board
- must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol
- ability to communicate well in a team and work toward shared goals
- ability to multi-task, stay organized, and prioritize responsibilities
- must maintain appropriate Garden attire (black dress top, black professional bottoms, black shoes not in disrepair)
- must be able to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure
- knowledge of craft cocktails and ability to build cocktails up to 6 to 7 points
- flexible availability with emphasis on evening and weekend work
- ability to transport and position bar supplies up to 25 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- minimum of two years prior experience as a bartender
- successful completion of the Responsible Vendor Training program
- knowledge of Alabama Beverage Control Board regulations
- ability to communicate well in a team environment and work toward shared goals
- ability to multi-task, stay organized, and prioritize responsibilities
- ability to maintain a professional demeanor under pressure
- knowledge of craft cocktails and ability to prepare specialty drinks
- preferred experience using a Point-of-Sale system like Square
- preferred experience bartending in events such as concerts or weddings
Job Duties
- Ensure the bar is properly stocked with the supplies needed for the event
- maintain constant oversight and control of alcohol following Beverage Coordinator approved builds
- serve clients and their guests under Alabama Beverage Control Board guidelines and Garden policies
- take guest orders and operate the POS with accuracy, quality, and efficiency
- work positively and professionally with other personnel and outside vendors
- keep the bar appearance neat and clean
- follow all safety procedures and report any safety-related questions or concerns
- complete all event paperwork including cash and service counts, secure all liquor and equipment after events
- perform other assigned duties
