Job Requirements

  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment
  • Previous food and beverage experience in a luxury hotel, club, or condominium environment is a plus
  • Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment
  • Food safety certification
  • Able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Effective at handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Able to assimilate complex information, data, and the like from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet particular needs
  • Effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns and issues raised by coworkers and residents
  • Physical agility and ability to move quickly in confined spaces
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, and bend throughout shift
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 100lbs
  • Ability to multi-task and give direction under pressure
  • Stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • Work in areas of high heat and humidity

Job Qualifications

  • Proven cooking experience including as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Restaurant experience of 3 years preferred
  • Hospitality experience of 3 years preferred

Job Duties

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
