Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of culinary diploma or equivalent experience
- Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- Possess valid food handling certificate if required by law
- Ability to meet excellent attendance standards
- Physical stamina for standing, walking, lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Commitment to food safety and sanitation
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of culinary diploma or equivalent experience strongly preferred
- Experience in high volume and fine dining restaurants preferred but not required
- Able to operate standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer and chef knife
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
- ServSafe preferred
Job Duties
- Provide high quality, fresh food products in a timely manner
- Prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
- Prepare food for service such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces
- Communicate with Chef, General Manager, and/or Director of Food and Beverage about orders, product levels, or quality issues
- Participate as a team player in preparation, service and delivery of product
- Ensure consistent preparation and presentation based on standards and portion sizes
- Report maintenance needs for kitchen equipment
- Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
- Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking
- Portion, arrange and garnish food plates for delivery
- Consult with management to plan menus and estimate food consumption
- Demonstrate excellent attendance
- Cook, prepare and package food products per order or keep warm
- Maintain quality and production standards for all menu items
- Control portion sizes and serving temperatures
- Clean, stock and restock workstations and displays
- Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, fryers and ovens
- Ensure cleanliness of work areas and proper storage of food products
- Practice safe food handling and personal hygiene at all times
