Job Duties
- Handle all duties according to hotel policies and procedures
- be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations, check log books and bulletin boards for updates
- obtain daily briefings about extraordinary events to manage situations effectively
- have knowledge of room rates, packages, discounts, and promotions
- know guest rooms, locations, amenities, features, and hotel services
- follow cash handling and banking procedures
- operate property management software including taking same-day reservations
- perform guest registration and room assignments
- accommodate special requests of guests
- be knowledgeable about brand Rewards and frequent traveler programs
- answer phones promptly and courteously
- handle mail and messages confidentially
- maintain cleanliness of front desk and back office
- assist guests with problems ensuring satisfaction
- study and act on emergency procedures
- use system passwords discreetly and securely
- provide local area and attraction information
- ensure proper credit and generate zero balance invoices at check-out
- bank out at shift end following strict procedures
- secure cash banks
- report unusual occurrences to management
- maintain professional representation of the company and brand
- stand alert and greet guests immediately
- be familiar with daily checklists and cross-train as needed
