Job Requirements

  • Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook
  • must be a degree seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in College Student Personnel Administration
  • a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the last 60 semester hours of undergraduate work
  • strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • willingness to work in a team environment
  • experience giving presentations to varying sized audiences
  • detail oriented, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • ability to work effectively on several projects simultaneously
  • ability to work cooperatively in a team
  • technical skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • ability to work evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • Work with the employer and alumni engagement team to initiate and execute programs to enhance students overall career readiness
  • collect and compile data and write reports on programs to be presented in the Career Services Annual Report
  • co-create assessment instruments to assess program and event outcomes
  • research and assess recruiting practices specifically for various industries
  • develop program ideas to assist employers and alumni to support the career development of students
  • develop outreach activities that encourage students to participate in Career Services programs and events
  • facilitate in person and virtual programs and events by conducting pre event planning, hosting the event, logistical setup support, and closing the event
