Job Requirements

  • completion of MCPS Food Service Satellite Manager test within 2 years
  • valid Maryland noncommercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent
  • ability to lift and move objects weighing 40 to 60 pounds
  • availability to work the scheduled hours from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and work in varying temperature conditions
  • willingness to use a personal vehicle for banking duties with reimbursement
  • ability to work overtime if required

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED
  • experience in supervisory or management capacity in school or institutional food service
  • knowledge of food production and forecasting
  • knowledge of HACCP guidelines and sanitation procedures
  • strong communication and human relations skills
  • proficiency in computer point-of-sale systems
  • current sanitation certification

Job Duties

  • perform routine cooking and food service duties
  • manage inventory and order food and supplies
  • supervise and evaluate cafeteria workers
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment and facilities
  • perform cashiering and bank deposit duties
  • ensure compliance with HACCP and sanitation guidelines
  • operate computer point-of-sale systems
