Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of appropriate training programs
- Increasingly responsible food service supervisory experience
- Knowledge of school cafeteria operations and large-quantity food preparation
- Current MCPS Cafeteria Manager test within the last two years
- Sanitation certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to operate commercial food service equipment and move objects weighing 40-60 pounds
- Valid Maryland noncommercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent
- Availability for some overtime and bank-related errands using a personal car
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of appropriate food service management training programs
- Experience in supervisory or management roles in institutional food service settings
- Knowledge of large quantity food preparation and HACCP guidelines
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Current sanitation certification
- Valid Maryland noncommercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent
Job Duties
- Manage and supervise the daily operations of the secondary school cafeteria and central kitchen as needed
- Train, schedule, assign, supervise, and evaluate cafeteria workers
- Ensure compliance with nutritional, sanitation, and safety standards
- Manage inventory, order food and supplies, and control food costs
- Handle financial transactions including cashiering and bank deposits
- Utilize computer point-of-sale systems effectively
- Maintain and analyze data to ensure efficient and cost-effective cafeteria operations
