Job Duties
- Attends in-service training and workshops for job function improvement
- cleans linens, utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas to maintain sanitary conditions
- evaluates prepared food for flavor, appearance, and temperature
- inspects food items and supplies to verify quantity, quality, and health standards compliance
- inventories food and supplies to ensure availability for menu requirements
- maintains equipment and serving areas in sanitary condition
- merchandises food and beverage items efficiently to students and staff
- monitors kitchen and cafeteria safety and sanitation practices
- oversees preparation, cooking, and serving of regular and special diet food items
- prepares food and beverages according to standardized recipes and procedures
- receives and stores food items following temperature guidelines and spoilage prevention
- reports needed supplies and equipment malfunctions to the cafeteria manager
- serves appropriate food quantities to meet nutritional requirements and requests
- solves problems related to food service operations
- adheres to safety practices, quality cooking, and use of kitchen equipment
