Job Requirements
- Must be physically able to perform manual tasks such as bending, stooping, lifting, and mopping
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods
- Must demonstrate diplomacy and professionalism when interacting with patients and staff
- Ability to respond to emergency situations as needed
- Willingness to adhere to safety and sanitation standards
- Flexibility to attend scheduled trainings and in-service sessions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or laundry roles is an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good physical condition to meet the demands of the job
- Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and protocols accurately
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and quality improvement activities
Job Duties
- Complete assigned internal cleaning and maintenance tasks including floor care, rubbish removal, and wall cleaning
- Complete external grounds maintenance such as lawn care and gutter work
- Assist in ferrying supplies or equipment when trained
- Respond to emergency cleaning calls
- Participate in in-service training and quality assurance activities
- Aid housekeepers in moving furniture or equipment
- Clean patient rooms thoroughly including trash removal and dusting
- Clean offices and lounges on schedule
- Observe patient privacy and knock before room entry
- Assist in cleanup after special events
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute laundry linens
- Clean and maintain laundry equipment and areas
- Fill linen carts and deliver them to patient floors
- Assist with personal linens washing and drying
- Complete required paperwork including daily linen counts
- Attend all mandatory education and training sessions
