Job Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science
  • current Funeral Director license within the practicing state
  • valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • industry experience preferred
  • cognitive ability to reason, plan, identify problems, learn quickly, and apply learning
  • process and results oriented
  • positive attitude and self-motivated
  • ability to build professional and trusting relations
  • professional communication skills
  • public speaking skills
  • proficient in database and MS Office use

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Facilitates funeral arrangement discussions with next of kin
  • presides over visitation, funeral, and graveside services
  • ensures compliance with mortuary, health, and vital statistics regulations
  • coordinates removals or transfers of the deceased
  • manages event planning including music, flowers, and catering
  • acts as Master of Ceremonies for services
  • interacts with families to fulfill death care requests
