Job Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science
  • Hold a current Funeral Director license valid in Alabama
  • Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Capacity to push and pull up to 150 pounds
  • Professional business attire required when in contact with families
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors during all seasons
  • Frequent standing, sitting up to 6 hours, and climbing stairs required

Job Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science
  • Current Funeral Director license within practicing state
  • Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Industry experience preferred
  • Cognitive ability to reason, plan, and solve problems
  • Positive attitude and self-motivation
  • Ability to build professional business relations
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Public speaking skills with ability to influence
  • Proficient in database usage and MS Office

Job Duties

  • Compassionately facilitate funeral arrangement discussions with deceased next of kin
  • Preside over visitation, funeral, and graveside services as Master of Ceremonies
  • Comply with mortuary, health, and vital statistics regulations
  • Perform removals or transfers adhering to company standards
  • Manage event planning including resource coordination for music, flowers, and catering
  • Prepare and maintain event venues before and after services
  • Interact with families to fulfill death care requests and generate pre-need leads
