Job Requirements
- High school or equivalent required
- Minimum PIC hours, 1000 hours PIC required
- Shall be proficient in flying operations of the aircraft they are assigned (LUH-72, EC145)
- Possess a current valid Army or FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
- Possess an instrument rating on their FAA Commercial Certificates
- Shall meet the qualification requirements of AR 95 20
- Currency shall be in accordance with AR 95-1
- Shall successfully complete annual flight evaluation conducted IAW AR 95-1 and the appropriate Aircrew Training Manual (ATM)
- The government reserves the right to have contractor pilots examined at US Army medical facility when deemed necessary
- Shall undergo and successfully complete initially and annually thereafter an Army or FAA second class flight physical
- Evaluation conducted by an Army/Government Test Flight Evaluator (MTFE)
- Ability to obtain/maintain Security Clearance (NAC-I T1) Public trust
- All contractor pilots shall undergo and successfully complete (initially and annually) a flight physical IAW Army Regulation (AR) 95-20, service guidance contained in AR 40-501, AR 95-1, and the appropriate Aircrew Training Manual (ATM)
- Evaluations shall be conducted by an Army/Government Evaluator (Standardization Instructor Pilots (SP) or Instructor Pilots (IP))
- When the Mission Design Series (MDS) is not supported by the US Army, the evaluator will be approved by AFMD Director
- Evaluations must meet the requirements of AR 95-1
- Contract pilots shall not perform flight duties after receiving treatment, medication, or drugs until properly cleared by a designated medical examiner
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1000 pilot-in-command hours
- Proficiency in flying LUH-72 and EC145 aircraft
- Valid FAA Commercial Certificate with instrument rating
- Current valid Army or FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
- Ability to successfully complete annual flight evaluations per Army regulations
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Demonstrated professionalism, ethics, and aviation experience
- Knowledge of navigational and communication equipment operation
- Capability to compute and annotate weight and balance logs
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance (NAC-I T1)
Job Duties
- Perform functional check flights and demonstrate aircraft proficiency upon completion of maintenance or modifications
- Interpret meteorological data and file flight plans for navigational courses
- Compute weight and balance logs for aircraft
- Initiate and complete military flight and maintenance documentation related to FCFs
- Communicate, troubleshoot, and collaborate with military pilots and technicians
- Determine airworthiness of aircraft prior to flight release
- Perform recovery flights and ferry aircraft to additional sites
- Conduct troubleshooting of aircraft systems on ground and in flight, providing appropriate corrective instructions
- Verify maintenance forms and records for compliance
- Conduct run-up tests on aircraft to assess modifications
- Deploy to support contract requirements for anticipated FCFs
- Assume site safety specialist or safety officer duties as qualified
- Participate in AS9100-AS9110 internal audits and corrective action processes
- Lead pilot duties as designated by site supervision
- Perform aircraft technical inspections including power plant and subsystem checks
- Provide technical guidance on maintenance techniques and safety procedures
- Maintain technical libraries and inspect systems before, during, and after maintenance
- Evaluate operational readiness and recommend corrective actions
- Inspect crash-damaged aircraft and estimate repair needs
- Ensure compliance with configuration control and diagnostic calibration programs
- Evaluate maintenance operations for compliance with directives and safety policies
- Perform maintenance trend analysis and apply quality and production control principles
- Perform additional qualified duties as assigned
