Job Duties
- Perform daily housekeeping functions and tasks as assigned and follow established safety precautions and infection control procedures
- ensure that work and cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical
- coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and recreational areas
- ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner
- dispose of personal protective equipment in accordance with established sanitation procedures
- ensure an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies is maintained in utility and janitorial closets
- assist others in lifting heavy equipment and supplies as directed or requested
- clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, and room heating and cooling units in resident rooms and recreational areas daily
- clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures and ensure water marks are removed
- clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways
- clean floors including sweeping, dusting, damp and wet mopping, disinfecting, and vacuuming carpets with proper safety signs in place
- clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing
- remove dirt, dust, grease, and film from surfaces using proper cleaning solutions
- clean hallways, stairways, elevators, and vacant rooms
- ensure work and assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored at all times, including before breaks, meal times, and end of the work day
