Job Requirements

  • knowledge of English and local language
  • ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner
  • ability to communicate with managers, supervisors, and colleagues
  • ability to handle conflict situations professionally
  • well-groomed and conformant to hotel dress code
  • physical fitness to stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous housekeeping or cleaning experience an asset
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • understanding of hygiene and safety standards
  • physical ability to perform manual labor

Job Duties

  • maintain a high degree of excellence in sanitation and maintenance of the guest room area
  • accomplish special projects as assigned by supervisors and housekeeping managers
  • be available to handle situations requiring immediate attention
  • be physically fit and able to bend, stoop, and lift
  • be reliable and willing to work weekends and holidays
  • pick up room reports and keys to assigned areas daily with proper signing
  • follow key procedure and do not let guests into rooms
  • avoid excessive noise in guest room areas
  • make up rooms according to established procedures starting with check-outs
  • respect Do Not Disturb signs and late check-outs, verifying with supervisors before knocking on doors
  • clean rooms with correct chemicals and tools
  • tidy up cart and return it to linen room at end of shift
  • follow Lost and Found procedures for guest items found
  • perform any other duties to support the organization’s mission and values
