Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training
  • ability to perform physical tasks associated with housekeeping including lifting up to 75 pounds
  • ability to read and comprehend instructions
  • ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to follow safety and security procedures
  • basic computer literacy
  • willingness to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • basic knowledge of housekeeping department duties
  • familiarity with computer software word processing, database and spreadsheet (especially Excel)
  • ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
  • ability to write simple correspondence
  • ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
  • ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction
  • must be detailed oriented
  • need strong clerical, organizational and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Provides professional, friendly service to all guests
  • cleans corridors, lobbies, stairways, and lounges as well as guest rooms
  • organizes work schedule from the room status list, arrivals, and departures
  • distributes linen, towels and room supplies using wheeled carts or by hand and organize and restock cart at the end of the shift
  • restocks room supplies such as drinking glasses, soaps, shampoos, writing supplies and replaces laundry bags and slips
  • replaces dirty linens with clean items and stores all dirty laundry in line with company policy
  • inspects and turns mattresses regularly, checks all appliances in rooms are in working order and realign furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout
  • responds to guest queries and requests, responds to calls for housekeeping problems such as spills, broken glasses, deliver any requested housekeeping items to guest rooms and remove room service items
  • ensures confidentiality and security of guest rooms and follow all company safety and security procedures
  • observe and report damage of hotel property report any maintenance issues or safety hazards
  • all other duties as assigned
